My name is Erika Stichka and I am pleased to be working with your student(s) this year!

Educational Background:
-Pacific Lutheran University: Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (2006)
-Northwest Nazarene University: Master of Science in Counseling (2011)

As a school counselor, it is an honor and joy to offer positivity, hope and courage to all students as they experience successes and challenges in the school setting. I primarily employ a strengths-based, solution-focused approach in my counseling practice in combination with play/art therapy evidence-based approaches. 

I've been a school counselor for the Boise School District since 2011. My role as the counselor is to promote and implement activities that focus on meeting the needs of all students, whether this be through:

- teaching counseling curriculum in each classroom
- providing individual student planning for academic, career or personal/social needs
- facilitating topical counseling groups
- providing consultation, referral, or crisis support services to parents & guardians
