Welcome to the Liberty Library!

Growing Readers, Connecting Minds

In our library, we cultivate a community of connection and growth. We provide a safe, inclusive space where students can ask big questions, seek out new information, and share their favorite stories with friends. By providing diverse resources and a warm environment, we ensure that every student feels seen and heard. We aren't just building better readers; we’re building a stronger community, one page at a time.

librarian Katie GoblerMeet your librarian

I'm thrilled to share the magic of books and learning with our students. I am a proud graduate of Boise Public Schools and Boise State University, where I obtained my B.A. in Elementary Education. Teaching runs in my family, as I come from a long line of public school librarians and teachers. My husband and I live here in Boise with our two children-a daughter who attends the University of Utah and a son attending Boise State University. We also have two furry felines-Smokey and Bandit, who entertain us everyday.

My mission is to cultivate a welcoming, inclusive library where every student feels they belong and finds a lifelong love for reading. I maintain a diverse collection, empowering students to choose books that reflect their own lives, broaden their perspectives, and ignite curiosity. Beyond books, I encourage creative exploration through makerspace activities, art, and games.

Our Vision

Every student a reader; every learner an explorer. We envision a district where every student builds a unique reading identity and possesses the critical thinking skills to navigate a changing world with confidence and curiosity.

Our Mission

The Library Services program provides an adaptive "in-between" space where students connect classroom learning to personal passion. We foster a lifelong love of literacy and provide a safe, supportive environment for students to explore, fail, try again, and grow.

Our Values

Belonging: We are a sanctuary for all students, reflecting their interests and welcoming their authentic selves. Agency: we empower students to take ownership of their learning and develop their own voice. Agility: We adapt our programs and spaces to meet the evolving needs of our schools and community. Integration: We bridge the gaps between content areas, making learning cohesive and relevant.

Our Commitments

We serve the Boise School District community through four pillars of excellence: Knowledgeable Professionals: Expert guidance from certified staff who lead with empathy and expertise. Accessible Spaces: Flexible, modern environments designed for both quiet reflection and active collaboration. Vibrant Collections: Curated, relevant materials that act as both mirrors to our students' lives and windows to the world. Inclusive Programming: Engaging activities that celebrate student interests and spark a community-wide joy for reading.
